Nabeela Syed SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: 20 ILCS 2705/2705-627 new Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that if the Department of Transportation is conducting a bridge restoration project and the municipality in which the bridge is located wants to engage in a beautification project of the bridge, then the Department shall work with the municipality to aid in the beautification of the bridge. Provides that the municipality shall use its own funds to invest in the beautification of the bridge. LRB104 06944 LNS 16981 b A BILL FOR HB2901LRB104 06944 LNS 16981 b 1 AN ACT concerning State government. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the 5Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding 6Section 2705-627 as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 2705/2705-627 new) 8 Sec. 2705-627. Bridge restoration projects. If the 9Department is conducting a bridge restoration project and the 10municipality in which the bridge is located wants to engage in 11a beautification project of the bridge, then the Department 12shall work with the municipality to aid in the beautification 13of the bridge. The beautification shall occur at the same time 14as the bridge restoration project. The municipality shall use 15its own funds to invest in the beautification of the bridge.
