SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

ILCON Art. III, Sec. 9 new

 Proposes to amend the Suffrage and Elections Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that, following the consolidated election on April 1, 2027, all elections under this Constitution, except for special elections, shall be held in even-numbered years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November. Provides that all persons elected to office in the 2027 consolidated election shall hold that office until a successor is elected and qualified in the 2032 general election.

2CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 

4HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 

5SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the 

6electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general 

7election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption 

8of this resolution a proposition to amend Article III of the 

9Illinois Constitution by adding Section 9 as follows

10ARTICLE III 

11SUFFRAGE AND ELECTIONS

13SECTION 9. DATE OF ELECTIONS

14 Following the consolidated election on April 1, 2027, all 

15elections under this Constitution, except for special 

16elections, shall be held in even-numbered years on the first
