1SENATE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 

3to learn of the death of Daniel Wilford Edmonds Jr. of Ozark, 

4who passed away on December 9, 2024; and

5 WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was born to Daniel Sr. and Donna 

6(Brown) Edmonds on July 22, 1946; he graduated from Flora 

7Township High School in 1964; after attending Southern 

8Illinois University Carbondale, he joined the U.S. Air Force, 

9serving his country during the Vietnam War for four years; and

10 WHEREAS, After his service, Dan Edmonds worked for the 

11Veterans' Administration for 22 years until his retirement; 

12and

13 WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was a member of several groups, 

14including the Coon Creek Ridge Riders, the Marion Elks Lodge, 

15and the American Legion; and

16 WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was an avid bowler, often hitting the 

17lanes up to four times a week and belonging to several bowling 

18leagues, and he was a fan of the Washington Nationals baseball 

19team; his interests also included fishing, horses, and most 

20importantly, his grandchildren; and

1 WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was preceded in death by his parents; 

2his niece, Lindsey West; his nephew, Jeff Kingery; his bonus 

3grandson, Dayne Harrison; and several aunts, uncles, and 

4cousins; and

5 WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds is survived by his children, Angela 

6(Mark Skivers) Edmonds, Felicia (Jason) Miller, and Anita 

7Edmonds; his sister, Mary (James) West; his nephew, Rob West; 

8two grandchildren; two bonus grandsons; one bonus 

9granddaughter; two great-nephews; several cousins; and many 

10special friends, including Judy Thomas; therefore, be it

11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRE
