A senate RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR AFL for being a manufacturing
company that brings great pride to the state of south carolina.

Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize AFL for its contribution to
the manufacturing landscape of South Carolina; and

Whereas, AFL was
founded on November 2, 1984. The manufacturer is headquartered in Duncan; and

Whereas, AFL
manufactures Ultra HD MicroCore SpiderWeb Ribbon (SWR) Fiber Optic Cable, a
high-performance product designed for high-density fiber deployments that
enables seamless connectivity for major global events, businesses, and
consumers alike; and

Whereas, AFL's highly-skilled
workforce, consisting of one thousand five hundred associates across seven
facilities in Spartanburg County, plays a critical role in the company's
success, producing industry-leading fiber optic cables that connect people and
businesses across the world; and

Whereas, in 2024, AFL
celebrated its fortieth year of manufacturing excellence and announced a one
hundred fifty-five million-dollar investment to expand its South Carolina
manufacturing operations, further strengthening the State's position as a
leader in advanced manufacturing; and

Whereas, in the past
year alone, AFL produced enough Ultra HD MicroCore Fiber Optic Cable with SWR
technology that, if connected end-to-end, the cable would stretch from Duncan to
Tokyo, Japan; and

Whereas, AFL is a
strong corporate citizen, giving back to the community through extensive
philanthropic efforts, including volunteer initiatives, scholarship programs,
community grants, and disaster recovery support. In 2024, AFL further
solidified its commitment to being a good corporate citizen by establishing a
dedicated foundation with an initial ten million-dollar investment to enhance
its impact for future generations; and

Whereas, there are more
than six thousand manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, all producing world-class
products. AFL was nominated and advanced to the Top Four round in the South
Carolina Manufacturers Alliance's 2025 Manufacturing Madness: The Coolest Thing
Made in SC contest, standing out among over one hundred and fifty nominated
products; and

Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment that
AFL has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now,
therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor
AFL for being a manufacturing company that brings great pride to the State of
South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this
resolution be presented to the president and CEO of AFL, Jaxon Lang, and the
AFL leadership team.
