VT LEG #386182 v.4
H.924 1
SHORT FORM 2
Introduced by Representative Lueders of Lincoln 3
Referred to Committee on 4
Date: 5
Subject: Health care; residential care homes; report 6
Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the 7
Agency of Human Services to submit a report to the General Assembly 8
regarding the creation of one or more residential care homes, which may be 9
level III or otherwise, for individuals exiting a hospital who cannot safely 10
convalesce at home and who do not require a nursing home level of care. The 11
report would identify whether there is a need for residential care homes, level 12
III or otherwise, and if so, identify where the need is; identify how one or more 13
residential care homes, level III or otherwise, might generate savings in the 14
health care system; identify funding sources for residential care homes, level 15
III or otherwise; and recommend how the Agency might partner with 16
community-based organizations to develop residential care homes, level III or 17
otherwise, as needed statewide. 18
