 Introduced by Sen. CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
 printed to be committed to the Committee on Housing, Construction and
 Community Development

 AN ACT directing the commissioner of housing and community renewal to
 require certain housing quality standards inspections of Section 8
 housing

 The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
 bly, do enact as follows:

 1 Section 1. Within ninety days of the effective date of this act, the
 2 commissioner of housing and community renewal shall amend the department
 3 of housing and community renewal's Section 8 administrative plan to
 4 require a Section 8 local administrator to conduct a housing quality
 5 standards inspection of a dwelling unit when a tenant moves out of or
 6 vacates such unit. Such inspection shall be in addition to any other
 7 required housing quality standards inspections.
 8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
