1HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, During the 103rd General Assembly, House Joint 

3Resolution 18 created the Task Force on Black Immigrants, 

4which was charged with the task of studying the state of Black 

5immigrants in Illinois and providing recommendations on how to 

6assist them; and

7 WHEREAS, The Task Force on Black Immigrants was to report 

8its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by 

9December 31, 2024; and

10 WHEREAS, The Task Force on Black Immigrants needs 

11additional time to complete its work; therefore, be it

12 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 

13HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 

14SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Task Force on Black 

15Immigrants shall report its findings and recommendations to 

16the General Assembly as required by House Joint Resolution 18 

17of the 103rd General Assembly no later than December 31, 2025; 

18and be it further

19 RESOLVED, That with this extension, the Task Force on 

20Black Immigrants shall continue to operate as provided under 

21House Joint Resolution 18 of the 103rd General Assembly.
