1HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 

3Representatives wish to congratulate Mickey Whitesell of 

4Elwood on being recognized as the 2025 National Direct Support 

5Professional of the Year by the American Network of Community 

6Options and Resources (ANCOR); and

7 WHEREAS, ANCOR is a national advocacy organization with 

8over 2,500 members that serves as a leading voice in 

9Washington, D.C. on behalf of community-based 

10intellectual/developmental disabilities service providers; 

11and

12 WHEREAS, Since June 2020, Mickey Whitesell has worked at 

13Trinity Services, Inc., a not-for-profit service provider 

14originally founded in 1950 and currently based in New Lenox 

15that serves and supports more than 5,800 children and adults 

16with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health 

17needs throughout Illinois; and

18 WHEREAS, Mickey Whitesell serves under Trinity Services, 

19Inc.'s Community Day Services program, also known as Studio 

2022; through the program, he leads in helping adults with 

21developmental disabilities develop healthy relationships in 

22the community and engage in unique experiences to advance

1their personal support plans; he also educates and advocates 

2to the community about disability issues and the direct 

3support professional position; and

4 WHEREAS, Mickey Whitesell, in being named the 2025 

5National Direct Support Professional of the Year, was selected 

6out of over 500 nominations received by ANCOR; and

7 WHEREAS, Mickey Whitesell was recognized alongside 53 

8other honorees from all across the country during the annual 

9conference, ANCOR Connect, which was h
