R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS,GruverElementarySchoolandGruverJuniorHigh
Schoolin theGruverIndependentSchoolDistricthavebothbeen
namedNationalBlueRibbonSchools;and
WHEREAS,The NationalBlueRibbonSchoolsProgramwas created
by the U.S.Departmentof Educationin 1982to recognizecampuses
thathavedemonstratedsuperioracademicperformanceor  made
notableprogressinimprovingoutcomesamongeconomically
disadvantagedstudents;oneof themostprestigioushonorsan
elementaryor secondaryschoolin theUnitedStatescanreceive,
the BlueRibbondesignationis awardedeachyearto onlya select
numberof campusesnationwide;and
WHEREAS,GruverElementarySchoolandGruverJuniorHigh
School,ledbyprincipalsAmberHollandandLexyGlass,
respectively,weredesignatedas BlueRibbonSchoolsin 2022;
GruverElementaryservesstudentsin prekindergartenthroughthe
fourthgrade,whileGruverJuniorHighservesstudentsin fifth
througheighthgrade;and
WHEREAS,Throughhardworkand perseverance,the teachersand
studentsof theseexemplarycampuseshaveestablisheda recordof
scholasticexcellence,and theiroutstandingeffortshavebeenduly
recognizedwiththe BlueRibbonSchoolaward;now,therefore,be it
RESOLVED,Thatthe Houseof Representativesof the 88thTexas
LegislatureherebycongratulateGruverElementarySchooland
GruverJuniorHighSchoolon theirselectionas 2022NationalBlue
