Emily Kuhn upon the occasion of herHONORING
designation as recipient of the 2018 Kenny Award for
Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role
It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend and payWHEREAS,
tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success in
the arts, have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State;
and
Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with itsWHEREAS,
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Emily Kuhn upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2018
Kenny Award for Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role; and
This momentous occasion was celebrated at the 25thWHEREAS,
Anniversary Kenny Awards Ceremony and Kenny Day on Saturday, May 12,
2018, at Shea's Performing Arts Center, Buffalo, New York; and
The Kenny Award was created in 1993, in honor of the lateWHEREAS,
Dr. Ken Lipke, the founder of Gibraltar Steel; this prestigious award
is a testament to his passion and dedication to the arts and his belief
in the arts as an integral component of society; and
Music study is most worthy of being encouraged andWHEREAS,
promoted, as it provides an opportunity for students to exhibit their
skills to an audience, thereby giving them self-esteem to last a
lifetime; and
Emily Kuhn's depiction of Lucy in Tonawanda High School'sWHEREAS,
presentation of garnered this gifted student a Kenny AwardJekyll & Hyde
for Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role; and
Emily Kuhn has distinguished herself as a young woman ofWHEREAS,
superlative ability, establishing a high standard of excellence and
purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and
In achieving this high honor, Emily Kuhn may take justWHEREAS,
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence
she brings to her family, friends, community and school; and
Emily Kuhn exemplifies the best potential which is inherentWHEREAS,
in our most precious resource, our youth; she has brought enduring honor
to her family and her community through her many achievements; now,
therefore, be it
That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations toRESOLVED,
honor Emily Kuhn upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2018 Kenny Award for Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role; and be
it further
