SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 3805/7.21 from Ch. 67 1/2, par. 307.21

 Amends the Illinois Housing Development Act. Provides that the Illinois Housing Development Authority shall make grants to nonprofit corporations for housing counseling services, subject to appropriation for that purpose and in accordance with rules adopted by the Authority.

1 AN ACT concerning State government.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 

3represented in the General Assembly:

4 Section 5. The Illinois Housing Development Act is amended 

5by changing Section 7.21 as follows:

6 (20 ILCS 3805/7.21) (from Ch. 67 1/2, par. 307.21)

7 Sec. 7.21. The Authority may make grants to nonprofit 

8corporations for operating, administrative and other expenses 

9of planning, constructing, rehabilitating and operating 

10developments under assisted or unassisted mortgage financing 

11programs, and may make grants to nonprofit corporations or 

12limited-profit entities for the benefit of residents of 

13developments in order to achieve lower rentals for some or all 

14of the units within developments financed under assisted or 

15unassisted mortgage financing programs, and shall make grants 

16to nonprofit corporations for housing counseling services 

17subject to appropriation for that purpose and in accordance 

18with rules adopted by the Authority.
