Louisiana HR 225: COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Anacoco High School boys' track team on an outstanding 2025 season

HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 225
BY REPRESENTATIVE SCHAMERHORN
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Anacoco High School boys' track team on an outstanding 2025 season.
WHEREAS, the Anacoco High School Indians boys' track team had an incredible
season that concluded with a strong fourth-place finish in Class B during the 2025 Ochsner
LHSAA Track & Field Meet at Bernie Moore Track on the campus of Louisiana State
University in Baton Rouge; and
WHEREAS, Anacoco's Layton Kay led the Indians with a pair of second-place
finishes in the 800-meter run and the 1600-meter run; Connor Gilbert placed second in the
3200-meter run and fourth in the 1600-meter run, and Cade Airhart contributed with a fifth-
place finish in the 3200-meter run; and
WHEREAS, Anacoco's Noah Austin claimed fourth place in the high jump, and
Greyden Reese finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles; and
WHEREAS, the Anacoco High School boys' track team is led by coaches Brittany
Draughn and Tammy Cecil, and the team is most deserving of the highest recognition for
their incredible achievements this season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Anacoco High School boys' track team
on an outstanding 2025 season and does hereby encourage the members of the team to
continue their excellent work and always strive for greatness.
