1HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 

3Representatives wish to congratulate the Polo Community High 

4School football team, the Marcos, for finishing as the 2025 

5Illinois State 8-Man Football Association (I8FA) Runner-Up; 

6and

7 WHEREAS, The Marcos achieved a season record of 11 wins 

8and two losses; and

9 WHEREAS, The Marcos advanced to the I8FA finals after a 

10dominant performance in the semifinals against the South Fork 

11High School football team, the Ponies, in Kincaid, concluding 

12the game with a 38 to 0 victory; and

13 WHEREAS, The Marcos are led by Head Coach Ted Alston, who 

14has garnered a series of strong performances from players 

15since he began leading the team in the fall of 2020; therefore, 

16be it

17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 

18HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 

19we congratulate the Polo Community High School football team, 

20the Marcos, for finishing as the 2025 Illinois State 8-Man 

21Football Association (I8FA) Runner-Up, and we wish the team

1future success; and be it further

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 

3presented to the coaches and players of the Marcos as a symbol 

4of our esteem and respect.
