COMMENDATIONS: Commends Bossier Parish Community College debater Lindsey
Brown on her 2024 national championships
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Bossier Parish Community College debater Lindsey Brown for her 2023-2024
3 national championships.
4 WHEREAS, the International Public Debate Association is the largest intercollegiate
5 debate organization in the United States; and
6 WHEREAS, with 873 students competing, this year was the largest novice division
7 in the history of the International Public Debate Association; and
8 WHEREAS, Bossier Parish Community College debater Lindsey Brown was named
9 both the season-long novice national champion and season-long novice speaker national
10 champion; and
11 WHEREAS, Lindsey Brown became only the second person in the history of the
12 International Public Debate Association to earn both honors, and she is most deserving of
13 the highest recognition for her outstanding achievements.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
15 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Bossier Parish Community College debater
16 Lindsey Brown for her 2023-2024 national championships; does hereby further recognize
17 her coaches, Bob Alexander and Preston Langley; and does hereby extend sincerest wishes
18 that she continue her excellent work and always strive for greatness.
