AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS IN HIS NEW POSITION AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND
TREASURER OF DUKE ENERGY.

Whereas, since 2002,
Duke Energy has enjoyed the benefit of the dedication, experience, and
leadership of Mike Callahan. Having rendered five years of outstanding service
in his capacity as the corporation's South Carolina state president, Mike
recently stepped down from this post and took up new duties as the
corporation's senior vice president and treasurer; and

Whereas, for Mike,
whose previous leadership roles have been instrumental in preparing him for
this new chapter in his career, the move is a return to the financial side of
the corporation. Prior to his work as South Carolina state president, he was
vice president of investor relations, overseeing Duke Energy's investor
relations and shareholder services organizations. He also served as director of
regulated utilities forecasting for Duke Energy, where he was responsible for
preparing and consolidating regulated utility forecasts to support financial
planning and strategic decision-making activities; and

Whereas, Julie Janson,
executive vice president and CEO for Duke Energy Carolinas, had these words of
praise for Mike Callahan: "I am proud of the many accomplishments Mike and his
team have achieved in South Carolina. Over the past five years, he spearheaded
Duke Energy's efforts to support communities and customers during the pandemic.
He also guided critical grassroots community relations initiatives and helped
lead company engagement with numerous state and local organizations during
storm restoration efforts, including most recently when Helene battered the
State"; and

Whereas, Duke Energy, a
Fortune 150 company headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, is one of
America's largest energy-holding companies. Duke Energy's electric utilities
serve 8.4 million customers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida,
Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, and these utilities collectively own 54,800
megawatts of energy capacity. The company's natural gas utilities serve 1.7
million customers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, and
Kentucky; and

Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina House, grateful for Mike Callahan's consistent commitment
and excellence in his labors, take great pleasure in wishing him continued
success as he serves in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House
of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize
and honor Mike Callahan for his five years of distinguished service to Duke
Energy and the citizens of South Carolina in his capacity as the corporation's

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution
