 Introduced by M. of A. GALLAHAN -- read once and referred to the Commit-
 tee on Transportation

 AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of
 the state highway system to the Gorham Pageant of Bands

 The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
 bly, do enact as follows:

 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 343-ee
 2 to read as follows:
 3 § 343-ee. Portion of the state highway system to be dedicated to the
 4 Gorham Pageant of Bands. All that portion of the state highway consti-
 5 tuting state route 245 in the town of Gorham, county of Ontario, from
 6 its intersection with County Road 18 to its intersection with Goose
 7 Street shall be dedicated to the Gorham Pageant of Bands.
 8 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
 10 as dedicated pursuant to section one of this act, provided that such
 11 signage shall state "Highway Dedicated to the Gorham Pageant of Bands".
 12 However, to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of
 13 commerce, the dedication called for pursuant to section one of this act
 14 shall be one of ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway
 15 shall not be changed as a result of this act.
 16 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
