AN ACT TO EXTEND BY SIX MONTHS THE DATE BY WHICH WELL 2
CONTRACTORS MUST BE CERTIFIED UNDER THE NORTH CAROLINA 3
WELL CONTRACTORS CERTIFICATION ACT AND TO EXTEND THE TIME 4
FOR THE ADOPTION OF RULES BY THE WELL CONTRACTORS 5
CERTIFICATION COMMISSION, AS RECOMMENDED BY THE 6
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW COMMISSION. 7
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 8
Section 1. Section 11 of S.L. 1997-358 reads as rewritten: 9
"Section 11. Sections 1, 3, 4, and 7 through 11 of this act are effective when they 10
become law. Section 2 of this act is effective when it becomes law except that G.S. 87-11
98.4(a) and G.S. 87-98.12, as enacted by Section 2 of this act, become effective 1 12
January July 1999. Section 5 of this act becomes effective 1 July 1997. Section 6 of this 13
act becomes effective 1 January July 1999." 14
Section 2. Notwithstanding G.S. 150B-21.1(a)(2) and 26 NCAC 2C.0102(11), 15
the Well Contractors Certification Commission may adopt temporary rules to implement 16
S.L. 1997-358 until 1 July 1999. 17
Section 3. This act is effective when it becomes law. 18
