A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the Chinese Community Center's 34th Annual Lunar New Year Banquet on1
January 31, 2014; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Chinese Community Center (CCC), established in 1980, is a nonprofit3
umbrella organization which has many subsidiaries and affiliates, such as Atlanta Chinese4
School, Kwong Tung Association, Chinese American Veteran Association, and Chinese5
American Women Association; and6
WHEREAS, the CCC, under the leadership of President Jimmy Ho, has been recognized as7
one of the most influential organizations in Atlanta and is the only Asian American nonprofit8
community organization in Georgia that has an education entity, the Atlanta Chinese School;9
and10
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Chinese School currently offers weekly bilingual Chinese/English11
languages and cultural classes to about 300 students; and12
WHEREAS, the CCC's community and education programs have helped make a difference13
in the community through programs such as low-income family tax consulting services,14
summer youth camps, and services for seniors; and15
WHEREAS, the 34th Annual Lunar New Year Banquet will be held at the Westin Atlanta16
Perimeter North Hotel and is one of the best networking events in the Asian American17
community; and18
WHEREAS, it is expected that more than 400 participants will join this special event, many19
of them elected officials, diplomats, prominent business owners and entrepreneurs, and20
community leaders; and21

WHEREAS, as the Chinese Community Center has demonstrated its commitment to the22
betterment of the Asian American community in the State of Georgia, it is abundantly fitting23
and proper that this organization be recognized.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25
recognize the Chinese Community Center's 34th Annual Lunar New Year Banquet on26
January 31, 2014.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Chinese Community Center.29
