1HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 

3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Illinois 

4State Police Trooper Clay Carns, who passed away on December 

523, 2024; and

6 WHEREAS, Trooper Carns was part of Illinois State Police 

7Cadet Class 123 and joined the ISP on November 10, 2013; and

8 WHEREAS, Trooper Carns was assigned badge number 6512 and 

9served for 11 years; and

10 WHEREAS, Trooper Carns is survived by his wife, Meghan; 

11his children, Gray and Ally; his parents, Patti and Danny 

12Carns; and his siblings, Chad Carns, Erica (Carns) Raciak, and 

13Elyssa Carns; therefore, be it

14 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 

15HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 

16we mourn the passing of Illinois State Police Trooper Clay 

17Carns and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 

18friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 

20presented to the family of Trooper Carns as an expression of

1our deepest sympathy.
