BY: Senator PARKER

COMMENDING the United for Progress Democratic Club
upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Awards
 Dinner on April 26, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose commitment to democratic participation, civic
engagement, and community empowerment has enriched the political and
civic life of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the United for Progress Democratic Club upon the occasion of its
Annual Awards Dinner on Sunday, April 26, 2026; and

WHEREAS, The United for Progress Democratic Club has long stood as a
pillar of grassroots democratic organizing in its community, working
steadfastly to ensure that the voices of its neighbors are heard in the
halls of government, that civic participation is accessible to all, and
that the democratic process serves as a genuine vehicle for community
uplift and progress; and

WHEREAS, The club's commitment to honoring those who have served
their communities with distinction reflects its deep understanding that
the health of our democracy depends not only on elections but on the
sustained engagement of citizens, leaders, and advocates who show up
year after year to do the work of building a more just and equitable
society; and

WHEREAS, The Annual Awards Dinner serves as both a celebration of
past achievement and a renewed call to action, bringing together elected
officials, civic leaders, community members, and supporters in a spirit
of shared purpose and collective commitment to the values of the
Democratic Party and the communities it serves; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor the United
for Progress Democratic Club, its leadership, its membership, and its
honorees, whose work demonstrates that progress is not the province of
any single election cycle but the product of sustained, principled, and
passionate community organizing; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the United for Progress Democratic Club upon the occasion of its
Annual Awards Dinner on April 26, 2026, and to extend sincere
congratulations to its honorees and appreciation to all who have
contributed to the club's enduring mission; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the officers and members of the United for Progress
Democratic Club, in recognition of their steadfast commitment to
democratic engagement and community service.
