A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Detective Lisa Wells on the grand occasion of her retirement;1
and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Detective Lisa Wells is a proud citizen of the State of Georgia who has served3
in the Cobb County Law Enforcement community throughout her career. Detective Wells4
is retiring from the Cobb County Police Department in April, 2019, after 27 years of service;5
and6
WHEREAS, Detective Wells has devoted her life to service in her community. She has7
played a significant role in the Cobb County Special Victims Unit; and8
WHEREAS, Detective Wells has served as a valuable committee member of the Cobb9
County Elder Abuse Task Force, the Cobb Elder Abuse Multi-Disciplinary Team, the Cobb10
Domestic Violence Task Force, and the Cobb County Crimes Against Children11
Multi-Disciplinary Team. The knowledge and skills of Detective Wells are vital to the12
operation of these groups; and13
WHEREAS, in 2018, Detective Wells was awarded the Special Investigations Detective of14
the Year award in Cobb County. Detective Wells has established herself as a leader in Cobb15
County, and it is an honor to recognize her for her service and dedication to the protection16
of children in the State of Georgia.17
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18
the members of this body recognize and commend Detective Lisa Wells for her efficient,19
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate her20
upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for21
continued health and happiness.22

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to24
Detective Lisa Wells.25
