SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 2310/2310-733 new

 Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Public Health shall create a prescription drug discount card program in the State. Provides that the Department shall start the program as soon as reasonably practicable after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Provides that the Department shall adopt rules necessary to carry out the program.

1 AN ACT concerning State government.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 

3represented in the General Assembly:

4 Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and 

5Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is 

6amended by adding Section 2310-733 as follows:

7 (20 ILCS 2310/2310-733 new)

8 Sec. 2310-733. Prescription drug discount card program. 

9The Department shall create a prescription drug discount card 

10program in the State. The Department shall start the program 

11as soon as reasonably practicable after the effective date of 

12this amendatory Act of the 104th General Assembly. The 

13Department shall adopt rules necessary to carry out the 

14program.
