An act relating to the City of Trenton, Gilchrist 2
County; transferring real property from the Board of 3
Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund to the 4
City Commission of the City of Trenton; providing 5
requirements for the use and the sale or disposition 6
of the real property; providing for conditional 7
cultural resource review; requiring conveyance of the 8
real property by a specified date; providing an 9
effective date. 10

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12

Section 1. The Board of Trustees of the Internal 14
Improvement Trust Fund shall convey to the City Commission of 15
the City of Trenton, in fee simple, and for all uses as 16
permitted by law, the following described real property located 17
in Gilchrist County and more particularly described as follows: 18

The following described lands located in Section 16, 20
Township 10 South, Range 15 East, Gilchrist County, 21
Florida; being a portion of the Nature Coast State 22
Trail: Commence at the Southwest Corner of Section 16, 23
Township 10 South, Range 15 East, Gilchrist County, 24
Florida; thence North 01 degrees 17 minutes 17 seconds 25

West along the West line of said Section 16, 2683.47 26

of the Nature Coast State Trail to the West right-of-37
way line of NW 1st Street and the Point of Beginning; 38

East, 362.02 feet to the West right-of-way line of 40
State Road No. 49 (US Highway No. 129); thence along 41
the West right-of-way line of State Road No. 49, South 42
01 degrees 09 minutes 08 seconds East, 229.74 feet to 43
the South boundary of the Nature Coast State Trail; 44
thence along the South boundary of the Nature Coast 45
State Trail, South 44 degrees 45 minutes 13 seconds 46
West, 362.02 feet to the West right-of-way line of NW 47
1st Street; thence along the West right-of-way line of 48

West, 229.74 feet to the North boundary of the Nature 50
Coast State Trail and the Point of Beginning. 51

Section 2. (1) The City Commission of the City of Trenton 53
shall manage and protect the real property described in section 54
1 for public means and purposes, and ensure continued public 55
access and use of the adjacent Nature Coast State Trailhead and 56
its associated facilities. 57
(2) Any sale or disposition of the real property described 58
in section 1 by the City Commission of the City of Trenton will 59
result in ownership of the property reverting back to the Board 60
of Trustees of the Internal Trust Fund on behalf of the state. 61
Section 3. If the Division of Historical Resources within 62
the Department of State determines that the Trenton Train Depot 63
is eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic 64
Places, or otherwise deemed historically significant under 65
chapter 267, Florida Statutes, the City of Trenton shall, within 66
90 days after taking title, initiate a cultural resource 67
assessment survey consistent with Rule 1A-46, Florida 68
Administrative Code. The scope of work and any resulting report 69
shall be provided to the Division of Historical Resources for 70
review and recordkeeping. 71
Section 4. The Board of Trustees of the Internal 72
Improvement Trust fund shall convey the real property described 73

in section 1 to the City Commission of the City of Trenton 74
within 90 days after the effective date of this act. 75
Section 5. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 76
