Section 1. Section 483A.8, subsection 3, paragraph b, Code1
2026, is amended to read as follows:2
b. A nonresident who purchases an antlered or any sex deer3
hunting license pursuant to rules adopted pursuant to section4
483A.1, is required to purchase an antlerless deer only deer5
hunting license at the same time only if the zone in which6
the nonresident is purchasing the antlered or any sex deer7
hunting license had antlerless deer only deer hunting licenses8
available for purchase in the preceding year, as determined by9
the commission, pursuant to rules adopted pursuant to section10
483A.1.11
EXPLANATION12
The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with13
the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.14
Under current law, a nonresident who purchases an antlered15
or any sex deer hunting license is required to purchase an16
antlerless deer only deer hunting license at the same time.17
This bill requires the purchase of an antlerless deer only18
deer hunting license only if the zone in which the nonresident19
is purchasing the antlered or any sex deer hunting license20
had antlerless deer only deer hunting licenses available for21
purchase in the preceding year.22
