A RESOLUTION to recognize and congratulate the Signal
Mountain Middle/High School boys' cross
country team, 2022 TSSAA Class A-AA state
champions.

WHEREAS, it is appropriate that we honor those Tennessee students who, through their
athletic prowess, have achieved the pinnacle of success and serve as exceptional ambassadors
of this State; and
WHEREAS, one such group of estimable individuals is the Signal Mountain Middle/High
School boys' cross country team, which recently won the 2022 Tennessee Secondary School
Athletic Association (TSSAA) Class A-AA state championship; and
WHEREAS, state championships are achieved only through hard work, dedication, and
the ability to work together as a team and excel with a cooperative spirit; the Signal Mountain
Eagles exhibited each of these rare qualities during their championship season; and
WHEREAS, the Eagles defeated the Murfreesboro Central Magnet Tigers and placed
three runners in the top fifteen for All-State individual honors; and
WHEREAS, during the championship competitions held at Sanders Ferry Park in
Hendersonville, the Eagles displayed the tenacity, camaraderie, and skill befitting the State's
finest athletic teams; and
WHEREAS, the Signal Mountain Middle/High School Eagles' noteworthy achievement is
a tremendous source of pride for their families, their classmates, and their entire community;
and
WHEREAS, we find it appropriate to acknowledge and applaud the members of the
boys' cross country team of Signal Mountain Middle/High School for serving as exemplars of the
high quality of the youth of Tennessee; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we congratulate the Signal Mountain Middle/High
School boys' cross country team on winning the 2022 TSSAA Class A-AA state championship
and extend to them our best wishes for every continued success in all future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
without House or Senate designation.
