SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

 Creates the Rogue Component Installation Prevention Act. Provides that, on and after the effective date of the Act, no public utility, unit of local government, or school district shall install components manufactured by a foreign country of concern on a renewable energy device in the State. Requires every distributor, manufacturer, or seller of a renewable energy device in the State to report the characteristic contents of any component installed on the renewable energy device, including the date of manufacture, the country of origin, and the location of the company that manufactured the component, to the United States Department of Homeland Security, the United States Department of Energy, the Illinois Power Agency, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, and the Illinois State Police. Defines terms.

1 AN ACT concerning regulation.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 

3represented in the General Assembly:

4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Rogue 

5Component Installation Prevention Act.

6 Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act:

7 "Component" means any software, hardware, digital and 

8cloud infrastructure, or power inverter installed on a 

9renewable energy device.

10 "Foreign country of concern" means the People's Republic 

11of China, the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of 

12Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic 

13of Cuba, Venezuela, or the Syrian Arab Republic, including any 

14agency of or any other entit
