1HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 

3Representatives wish to congratulate the East St. Louis Senior 

4High School boys basketball team, the Flyers, on winning the 

52026 Illinois High School Association Class 3A State 

6Championship; and

7 WHEREAS, The Flyers compiled a season record of 33 wins 

8and 4 losses on their way to the title, the second state 

9championship in program history, with both titles (2019 and 

102026) achieved under the leadership of Head Coach Mark 

11Chambers; and

12 WHEREAS, The Flyers' success was recognized as #1 in the 

13State of Illinois and #47 nationally; and

14 WHEREAS, The Flyers won the Proviso West Holiday 

15Tournament and the Illinois Southwestern Conference during 

16their run; and

17 WHEREAS, The Flyers' head coach, Mark Chambers, was named 

18Illinois Basketball Coaches Association State Coach of the 

19Year for the second time in his career; and

20 WHEREAS, The Flyers are led and supported by Head Coach
