VT LEG #387170 v.1
No. R-194. House concurrent resolution congratulating the 2025 Thetford Academy
Panthers’ Division III championship baseball team.
(H.C.R.158)
Offered by Representatives Masland of Thetford and Holcombe of Norwich
Offered by Senators Clarkson, Major, and White
Whereas, as they entered the decisive game in Burlington for the 2025 Division III
baseball crown, the second-seeded Thetford Academy Panthers confronted the top-ranked
and undefeated White River Valley Wildcats, whose record to date indicated a
formidable opponent, and
Whereas, the Panthers, many of whom had played on Thetford Academy’s 2023
championship squad, combined their playoff experience with the determination of a
focused freshman pitcher to more than justify their presence in this most important game
for the 2025 season, and
Whereas, despite the Wildcats scoring the contest’s first plate crossing in the bottom
of the third inning, White River Valley’s moment of glory was brief, as the Panthers
utilized the top of the fourth to tie the score and establish a 3–1 lead, and in the sixth
inning, the Panthers’ final run finalized a 4–1 Thetford Academy victory and this year’s
Division III honors, and
Whereas, the proud and triumphant Panthers were Matthew McGovern, Adam
Crockett, Liam Brooks, Oliver Sarazin, Owen Goodrich, Miles Lawrence, Xander
Oshoniyi, Tommy Amber, Andrew Spooner, Sam Kraemer, Dylan Libby, Mason Gross,
Sam Parkman, Dempsey McGovern, JD Farrell, and Evan Patterson, and
Whereas, first-year Head Coach Kris Keelty demonstrated his knack for mentoring
talented baseball players, and his assistant coaches Jarrod Grassi, Ryan Pepe, and Mack
Briglin provided much-appreciated support, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates the 2025 Thetford Academy Panthers’
Division III championship baseball team, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
