1.2 relating to public safety; appropriating money for a Community Engagement​
1.3 Response Team.​
1.4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT RESPONSE TEAM.​
1.6 $250,000 for fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner​
1.7 of public safety for a grant to a nonprofit organization to fund a Community Engagement​
1.8 Response Team (CERT) in the Rochester area. The team must be comprised of community​
1.9 leaders and volunteers and focus on improving public safety by acting as a liaison between​
1.10 the Black community and law enforcement, and on curating opportunity, mediating problems,​
1.11 and providing advocacy for the Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) community.​
