1SENATE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 

3to learn of the death of Dan "Junior" Lee; and

4 WHEREAS, Dan Lee was born to Theodore and Erma Lee in 

5Jackson, Mississippi on December 11, 1953; and

6 WHEREAS, Dan Lee worked as a machinist for Caterpillar, 

7Inc.; after moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, he drove for Uber to 

8keep himself busy; and

9 WHEREAS, Dan Lee worked on various projects with Bobbie 

10Binion, including serving as a lead voice actor for the film 

11Babalawo Detective Agency; and

12 WHEREAS, Dan Lee was affectionately known by many 

13nicknames, including "Granddaddy", "Uncle Dan", "Dan Junior", 

14and "Dan the Man", among others; and

15 WHEREAS, Dan Lee loved traveling, recently visiting Bali 

16to celebrate his birthday, and attending the yearly "4947" 

17Robert Taylor Picnic in Washington Park; he also enjoyed 

18having fun and sharing memories; and

19 WHEREAS, Dan Lee was devoted to his family and friends; he

1will be remembered for his smile and his great, fun-loving 

2personality; and

3 WHEREAS, Dan Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his 

4brothers, Theodore, Eddie, and Bob; his son, Cinque; and the 

5mother of his children, Alice Smith; and

6 WHEREAS, Dan Lee is survived by his children, Aleka, 

7Akela, Dan, and Gianni; one grandchild; his siblings, 

8Patricia, Margaret, Prince (Christine), Vertis (Marlene), 

9Jerry (Cynthia), Jonathan, and Leonard; and a host of nieces, 

10nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 

12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 

13Dan "Junior" Lee and
