AN ACT TO ESTABLISH NEW SALARY SCHEDULES FOR CERTIFIED AND 2
NONCERTIFIED PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
Section 1. (a) Beginning July 1, 1989, and ending June 30, 1992, the following 5
monthly salary schedule shall be phased in for certified personnel of the public schools 6
who are classified as "A”teachers. The schedule contains 21 steps with each step 7
corresponding to one year of teaching experience. 8
