A RESOLUTION to commend and congratulate Elizabeth Graham
Pistole, Miss Tennessee USA 2021.

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should specially
recognize those emerging community leaders who strive to improve the quality of life for their
fellow citizens while bringing beauty, grace, and purpose to all their endeavors; and
WHEREAS, one such individual is Elizabeth Graham Pistole, who was recently crowned
Miss Tennessee USA 2021, a most befitting honor, as it recognizes her dedication to excellence
and her devotion to serving her community; and
WHEREAS, a native of Franklin, Ms. Pistole currently attends the University of Alabama
(UA), where she maintains a 4.0 grade point average while pursuing a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Management and a master's degree in marketing; and
WHEREAS, while at UA, Elizabeth Pistole has served as the Student Government
Association's Executive Vice President's Director of Communication and Director of Logistics for
the Vice President of Financial Affairs, Director of Halftime & Reception for the Homecoming
Executive Committee, Chairman of Committees for the Miss University of Alabama pageant,
and a member of the Alpha Zeta chapter of Phi Mu fraternity, which she has served as Ritual
Chairman and Professional Development Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, she has also participated in the UA Faculty Scholar Program and the Alpha
Tau chapter of Lambda Sigma Honor Society; she was named the Order of Omega's Most
Outstanding Freshman in 2019, has frequently appeared on the President's List, and is a
member of the university's Elliot Society, and

WHEREAS, a woman of great vision and initiative, Elizabeth Pistole is the founder and
president of Dancing Divas and Dudes, which she began in 2014; the organization currently has
offices in Nashville and Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and
WHEREAS, her community involvement includes volunteering with Best Buddies and
serving on the Development Committee for the 10
th annual golf tournament held by Angels in
Disguise; and
WHEREAS, often duly honored for her service to her community, Ms. Pistole is the
recipient of Tennessee's Most Promising Young Leader Award for 2019 and was the 2021
Nashville Youth Honoree for the Governor's Volunteer Stars award; and
WHEREAS, among Elizabeth Pistole's noteworthy accomplishments, she has given a
TED Talk and is a certified scuba diver; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Pistole is one of Tennessee's most noteworthy citizens, and it is most
fitting that we honor her at this time; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
TWELFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we commend and congratulate Elizabeth Graham Pistole upon being
crowned Miss Tennessee USA 2021, extending our best wishes to her during her reign and
wishing her much success as she represents Tennessee in the Miss USA pageant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
without House or Senate designation.
