AN ACT AUTHORIZING BONDS OF THE STATE FOR CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS TO VARIOUS COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS IN
THE CITY OF NORWICH.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:

That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the 1
issuance of bonds of the state in accordance with section 3-20 of the 2
general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate 3
three million seven hundred thirty thousand dollars, the proceeds of 4
which shall be used by the Department of Economic and Community 5
Development for the purpose of providing (1) a grant-in-aid in the 6
amount of one hundred thousand dollars to the First Haitian Baptist 7
Church of Norwich in the city of Norwich for capital improvements; (2) 8
a grant-in-aid in the amount of five hundred thousand dollars to the 9
Chestnut Street Playhouse in the city of Norwich for capital 10
improvements; (3) a grant-in-aid in the amount of seven hundred 11
twenty thousand dollars to the Norwich Arts Center in the city of 12

Norwich for capital improvements; (4) a grant-in-aid in the amount of 13
nine hundred thirty thousand dollars to the Saint Mary's Church in the 14
city of Norwich for capital improvements; (5) a grant-in-aid in the 15
amount of five hundred thousand dollars to the Greeneville 16
Congregational Church in the city of Norwich for capital improvements; 17
(6) a grant-in-aid in the amount of two hundred thousand dollars to the 18
Grace Episcopal Church in the city of Norwich for capital 19
improvements; (7) a grant-in-aid in the amount of two hundred 20
thousand dollars to the Evans AME Zion Church in the city of Norwich 21
for capital improvements; (8) a grant-in-aid in the amount of three 22
hundred eighty thousand dollars to the Catholic Charities in the city of 23
Norwich for capital improvements; and (9) a grant-in-aid in the amount 24
of two hundred thousand dollars to the Divine Providence Church in 25
the city of Norwich for capital improvements. 26
Statement of Purpose:
To provide funding for capital improvements to various community
organizations in the city of Norwich.
