A BILL
To authorize the extension of nondiscriminatory treatment
(normal trade relations treatment) to the products of
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. TERMINATION OF APPLICATION OF TITLE IV 3
OF THE TRADE ACT OF 1974 TO THE PROD-4
UCTS OF KAZAKHSTAN, UZBEKISTAN, AND 5
TAJIKISTAN. 6
(a) PRESIDENTIAL DETERMINATIONS AND EXTEN-7
SIONS OF NONDISCRIMINATORY TREATMENT.—Notwith-8

standing any provision of title IV of the Trade Act of 1974 1
(19 U.S.C. 2431 et seq.), the President may— 2
(1) determine that such title should no longer 3
apply to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, or Tajikistan; and 4
(2) after making a determination under para-5
graph (1) with respect to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, 6
or Tajikistan, proclaim the extension of nondiscrim-7
inatory treatment (normal trade relations treatment) 8
to the products of that country. 9
(b) TERMINATION OF APPLICATION OF TITLE IV.— 10
On and after the date on which the President proclaims 11
the extension of nondiscriminatory treatment to the prod-12
ucts of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, or Tajikistan, title IV of 13
the Trade Act of 1974 shall cease to apply to the country 14
to which such extension pertains. 15
