Assembly Resolution No. 990

BY: M. of A. Berger

MEMORIALIZING the life of Rachel Aliza Nisanov
a"h, and honoring her enduring legacy of faith,
 kindness, and unity

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the
memory of cherished members of our communities whose lives left an
enduring and meaningful impact upon all who knew them; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body pauses to memorialize
and honor the life of Rachel Aliza Nisanov a"h, a young soul whose
kindness, humility, and profound faith inspired family, friends, and
community alike; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Aliza Nisanov was the beloved daughter of Rabbi
Shlomo and Rebbetzin Ora Nisanov of Kehilat Sephardim Ahavat Achim in
Queens, New York, and the cherished youngest of eight children in a home
distinguished by Torah, chessed, and boundless hospitality; and

WHEREAS, At just 13 years of age, Rachel Aliza was known for her
gentle spirit, deep sensitivity, and unwavering love of peace; she
strove to bring harmony among siblings and friends, modeling empathy,
patience, and understanding in all her interactions; and

WHEREAS, Teachers and classmates alike described her as a "quiet
leader," a source of positivity and growth who encouraged others to
daven with greater intention, to take on kabbalos for the sake of
others, and to pursue personal improvement with humility and sincerity;
and

WHEREAS, Without seeking recognition, she undertook private
commitments of spiritual growth, embodying the timeless teaching that
true greatness is measured not by public acclaim but by quiet
consistency and integrity; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Aliza shared a uniquely close bond with her mother
and cherished her family deeply, maintaining a special connection with
her siblings and lovingly caring for her nieces and nephews; through
heartfelt conversations and simple acts of kibbud av, she expressed her
devotion with warmth, wisdom beyond her years, and quiet pride; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Aliza embraced life's simple joys, music, dancing,
laughter, and friendship, and used every opportunity to strengthen
relationships and foster genuine connection; and

WHEREAS, Though her time in this world was heartbreakingly brief,
the impact of Rachel Aliza Nisanov a"h has been vast, moving thousands
to greater achdus, chessed, and strengthened faith, and serving as a
lasting reminder that even the quietest light can illuminate an entire
community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the life and memory of Rachel Aliza Nisanov a"h, whose legacy of

kindness, connection, humility, and faith will continue to inspire all
who learn of her story; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rabbi Shlomo and Rebbetzin Ora Nisanov and the Nisanov
family as an expression of the deepest sympathy and respect of this
Legislative Body.
