specifications for safety placards, and for other purposes. 
Be  it  enacted  by  the  Senate  and  House  of  Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This  Act  may  be  cited  as  the  ‘‘Railcar  Accident  4
Placard  Integrity  and  Durability  for  Responders  Act  of  5
2026’’ or the ‘‘RAPID Responders Act of 2026’’. 6
SEC. 2. SPECIFICATIONS FOR SAFETY PLACARDS. 7
(a)  I
NGENERAL.—Not  later  than  1  year  after  the  8
date  of  enactment  of  this  Act,  the  Secretary  of  Transpor-9
tation  shall  issue  regulations  to  require  that  placards  cov-10

(b)  U
PDATESBASED  ONRECOMMENDATIONS.—The 4
Secretary  may,  upon  recommendation  from  the  National  5
Transportation  Safety  Board,  issue  such  regulations  as  6
are  necessary  to  increase  the  heat  threshold  described  in  7
subsection (a). 8
