A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO MAKE EMPLOYEES OF STATE LICENSING AND EXAMINING 2
BOARDS MEMBERS OF THE TEACHERS' AND STATE EMPLOYEES' 3
RETIREMENT SYSTEM. 4
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
Section 1. G.S. 135-1(11) reads as rewritten: 6
"(11) 'Employer' shall mean the State of North Carolina, the county board of 7
education, the city board of education, the State Board of Education, the 8
board of trustees of the University of North Carolina, the board of 9
trustees of other institutions and agencies supported and under the 10
control of the State, any State board or agency charged with the duty of 11
administering any law relating to the examination and licensing of 12
persons to practice a profession, trade, or occupation whose employees 13
are covered by the provisions of Chapter 126 of the General Statutes 14
except for Article 3, or any other agency of and within the State by 15
which a teacher or other employee is paid." 16
Sec. 2. G.S. 135-1.1 is repealed. 17
Sec. 3. This act becomes effective October 1, 1995. 18
