Summary

This bill directs MassHealth to make payments for graduate medical education and training programs, particularly for residencies and other professional training in areas with physician or provider shortages, such as primary care and behavioral health. The payments would support training for doctors, nurse practitioners, dentists, and dental hygienists at community-based healthcare settings and centers throughout Massachusetts. The bill affects MassHealth, community health centers, medical residents, and other healthcare trainees who would benefit from these education funding programs.
