A house RESOLUTION

to recognize and honor Kellan Fenegan, a senior in
the Honors College at Clemson University, and to congratulate her for her
stellar collegiate leadership and for her upcoming graduation.

Whereas, the House of
Representatives is pleased to commend Kellan Fenegan as she completes her impressive
career and studies at Clemson University in May 2025; and

Whereas, pursuing a
double major in political science and communication and a minor in sociology,
Ms. Fenegan is a Thomas F. Chapman Leadership Scholar, a Dixon Global Policy
Scholar, a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and an intern in the Office of
the President, and she served as the 68th director of one of Clemson University's
longest standing traditions: Tigerama; and

Whereas, Ms. Fenegan
served as the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Student Body president of Clemson. She and
her vice president campaigned on the platform, "Elevate Together, Achieve
Forever," with the objective of elevating the student experience by connecting
students, organizations, clubs, alumni, and administrators together as one
Clemson; and

Whereas, during her
year as president, she and her team had many accomplishments. At the beginning
of the academic year, Clemson University Student Government (CUSG) held the
annual TigerProwl event, an organizational fair that allows the over five
hundred organizations in which Clemson students participate to speak with
students seeking to get more involved. At TigerProwl, a record number of over
six thousand one hundred students attended; and

Whereas, in October,
all four councils of Fraternity and Sorority Life donated over five thousand
food items, supplies, and essentials to Clemson Community Cares to support
those who suffered from impacts of Hurricane Helene. The Student Senate also
passed a bill to appropriate up to twenty thousand dollars to Appalachian State
University, Western Carolina University, and University of North
Carolina-Asheville for Hurricane Helene Relief; and

Whereas, in the spring,
CUSG and Graduate Student Government hosted Open Forum with the vice president of
Student Affairs; the executive vice president for Academic Affairs; the provost,
associate provost, and dean of Undergraduate Learning; the associate provost
and dean of the Graduate School; and the athletic director as a way to allow
both undergraduate students and graduate students to learn more from their
administrators firsthand. Many students attended the successful event to hear
from the administrators who impact their daily lives at Clemson; and

Whereas, at the end of
February, twelve individuals in student government leadership went on the ACC
Advocacy Days trip in Washington, D. C., to connect with other student leaders
in the ACC and advocate with congressional staff members for Clemson
initiatives, such as a new student union, the future of NIL, Land Grants, and
Pell Grants. Additionally, CUSG created a President's Canvas page with
resources that club and organization presidents can join to foster a central
location for communication. Overall, CUSG raised over 168,000 dollars in
revenue from events to use for more student-facing activities and give back to
the student body; and

Whereas, while a
student at Clemson, Ms. Fenegan served as an intern for Clemson Governmental
Affairs and as an intern for Congressman Joe Wilson in Washington, D. C. The
South Carolina House of Representatives wishes Kellan continued success as she
plans to move to the District after graduation in May 2025 to pursue a career
in government. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House
of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize
and honor Kellan Fenegan, a senior in the Honors College at Clemson University,
and congratulate her for her stellar collegiate leadership and for her upcoming
graduation.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution
be presented to Kellan Fenegan.
