A BILLTO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relatingto theissuanceof a disabledparkingstickerby the
Departmentof MotorVehicles.
BE IT ENACTEDBY THE LEGISLATUREOF THE STATEOF TEXAS:
SECTION
A1.AASection681.001,TransportationCode,is amended
by addingSubdivision(3-a)to readas follows:
(3-a)
AA"Disabledparkingsticker"meansa  sticker
issuedunderSection681.002.
SECTION
A2.AATheheadingto Section681.002,Transportation
Code,is amendedto readas follows:

A681.002.AADISABLEDPARKINGPLACARDOR STICKER.
SECTION
A3.AASection681.002,TransportationCode,is amended
by amendingSubsections(a),(c),and(d)andaddingSubsections
(f),(g),and (h) to readas follows:
(a)
AAThedepartmentshallprovidefortheissuanceof a
disabledparkingplacardor a disabledparkingsticker,as provided
by Subsection(f),to a personwitha disability.
(c)
AAThedepartmentshallfurnishthedisabledparking
placardsanddisabledparkingstickerstoeachcounty
assessor-collector.
(d)
AAA  disabledparkingplacardanda  disabledparking
stickermustbeara hologramdesignedto preventthe reproduction
of the placardor stickeror the productionof a counterfeitplacard
or sticker.

(f)AAIf issuinga disabledparkingplacardis not feasibleor
practical,includingwhena personwitha disabilityappliesfor a
placardfor a motorvehiclewithtwo or threewheels,the department
shallprovidefor the issuanceof a disabledparkingstickerin lieu
of a placard.Thedisabledparkingstickermustbe one-sidedand
includethesameinformationas a disabledparkingplacardunder
Subsections(b)and(e).Thedepartmentshalladoptrulesas
necessaryto implementthissubsection.
(g)
AAA disabledparkingstickerissuedunderSubsection(f)
mustbe displayedon the top or bottomlefthandcornerof a motor
vehicle
’s windshield.
(h)
AAExceptas otherwiseprovidedby thissection,a disabled
parkingstickeris subjectto the lawsof thisstateapplicableto a
disabledparkingplacard,includinglawsrelatingtothe
applicationfor and issuanceof a disabledparkingplacard.
