SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

305 ILCS 5/12-4.60 new

 Amends the Administration Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Prohibits the Department of Human Services and the Department of Healthcare and Family Services from allowing any recipient of cash assistance or medical assistance provided under the Code or any applicant or recipient of benefits provided under the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to submit any income self-attestation form or document as proof of income. Requires the Departments to apply for any federal waivers or approvals necessary to implement the amendatory Act.

1 AN ACT concerning public aid.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 

3represented in the General Assembly:

4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by 

5adding Section 12-4.60 as follows:

6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.60 new)

7 Sec. 12-4.60. Proof of income. Subject to federal 

8approval, if required, the Department of Human Services and 

9the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall not 

10allow any applicant or recipient of cash assistance under 

11Article III, IV, or XVI, medical assistance under Article V, 

12or benefits under the federal Supplemental Nutrition 

13Assistance Program to submit any income self-attestation form 

14or document as proof of income. The Departments shall apply 

15for any federal waivers or approvals necessary to implement 

16this Section.
