child's growth and education is the reason for the existence of 4-H; the
4-H Camp helps children develop self-esteem, character, courage,
responsibility, resourcefulness, and cooperation; and

WHEREAS, Quality camp experiences help children develop the healthy
emotional and social skills necessary to grow into strong, committed,
responsible, considerate, and competent adults; this enables youth to
appreciate, respect, and care for the world in which they live; and

WHEREAS, In 1925, 4-H Camp Bristol Hills, the second 4-H Camp in New

children to value their uniqueness and to understand and appreciate
their part in the larger community; this is implemented through positive
child development and a partnership with parents; and

WHEREAS, As an organization, 4-H Camp Bristol Hills values the

WHEREAS, Camp professionals have joined together to share knowledge
and experience and to ensure the quality of camp programs; 4-H Camp
Bristol Hills offers a wide variety of programs for daytime and

WHEREAS, The mission of 4-H Camp Bristol Hills to positively
influence young lives should be applauded by the citizens of the
community; and

WHEREAS, The success of 4-H Camp Bristol Hills is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled

enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
