COMMENDATIONS: Commends Katie Lynn Hambrice for graduating as one of nine
valedictorians in the 2024 graduating class of Chalmette High School
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Katie Lynn Hambrice for graduating as one of nine valedictorians in the 2024
3 graduating class of Chalmette High School.
4 WHEREAS, the mission of Chalmette High School is to provide quality educational
5 instruction in order to empower its students to grow academically, emotionally, and socially
6 in a safe environment; and
7 WHEREAS, Chalmette High School strives to be a premier high school in the state
8 of Louisiana, one that evokes pride within an involved community and empowers staff to
9 meet the needs of all students; and
10 WHEREAS, Chalmette High School is currently rated as an "A" school by the
11 Louisiana Department of Education; in 2019, Chalmette High graduates earned $11 million
12 in college scholarships, and more than 50% of its students graduated with college credit
13 through dual enrollment and advanced placement courses; and
14 WHEREAS, Katie plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major
15 in biology; she honed her leadership skills through her service as the Southeast
16 representative on the Louisiana 4-H executive board, and she received a Community Service
17 Diploma Endorsement; and
18 WHEREAS, Katie Lynn Hambrice is most deserving of the highest recognition for
19 her many incredible accomplishments.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
21 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Katie Lynn Hambrice for graduating as one

1 of nine valedictorians in the 2024 graduating class of Chalmette High School and does
2 hereby extend sincerest wishes that she continue her excellent work and always strive for
3 greatness.
