1HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 

3Representatives wish to congratulate Bonnie Lopez on the 

4well-deserved occasion of having the Concordia Place Courtyard 

5dedicated in her honor; and

6 WHEREAS, Bonnie Lopez and her husband, Dennis, have been 

7proud and deeply rooted residents of the Avondale neighborhood 

8in Chicago for 47 years, demonstrating a lifelong commitment 

9to their local community; and

10 WHEREAS, Bonnie Lopez served as a tireless champion and 

11community leader in bringing Concordia Place to the Avondale 

12community in 2006; and

13 WHEREAS, Bonnie Lopez's remarkable record of community 

14engagement and leadership spans multiple decades and vital 

15neighborhood institutions, including serving as a dedicated 

16parent member and community member on the Local School Council 

17(LSC) for Carl Von Linne School for 33 years, on the Board of 

18Directors for Near Northwest Arts Council for 20 years, and on 

19the Advisory Board of Directors for Friends of Linne; and

20 WHEREAS, Beyond her organizational leadership, Bonnie 

21Lopez is an accomplished artisan whose numerous gallery

1exhibits have been featured with the Illinois Artisan Shop in 

2the James R. Thompson Center; and

3 WHEREAS, Concordia Place dedicated the Bonnie Lopez 

4Courtyard to honor her incredible contributions and in 

5recognition of her tireless community leadership; therefore, 

6be it

7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 

8HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 

9we congratulate Bonnie Lopez on the dedication of the Bonnie
