A RESOLUTION
Commending Ms. Morgan Akridge; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most2
important objective of the General Assembly; and3
WHEREAS, Ms. Morgan Akridge has shown by the example of her academic4
accomplishments that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success is within the reach of5
the students in this state; and6
WHEREAS, this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through her superlative7
achievements as a student at Stephens County High School where she has been selected to8
receive the 2013 Stephens Scholars Achievement Award for outstanding results on her9
college admission examination; and10
WHEREAS, she has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness, and11
personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance; and12
WHEREAS, in a world which seems to accentuate consistently the negative aspects of young13
people, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary14
accomplishments, intellectual acumen, and unsurpassed commitment to excellence of such15
an outstanding individual.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body17
heartily commend Ms. Morgan Akridge for her spectacular scholastic endeavors and express18
to her their sincerest best wishes for continued academic success in the future.19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed20
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Morgan Akridge.21
