Texas SR 219: Recognizing April 9, 2021, as Realtor Day.

SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 219
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join the Texas Association of Realtors and Texans across the
state in celebrating April 9, 2021, as Realtor Day at the Texas
Capitol; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Realtors, known as Texas
Realtors, has more than 135,000 members; it is the largest
professional association in Texas, and its members are engaged in
every aspect of the state’s diverse real estate interests,
including farm and ranch, property management, and
international, residential, and commercial real estate; and
WHEREAS, Real estate and housing are essential to state and
local economies; property purchases can produce jobs in the
construction industry, and each transaction contributes greatly
to the growth and prosperity of local communities; and
WHEREAS, Realtors adhere to a strict code of ethics that
demands competence, fairness, and integrity in carrying out the
work in their profession; during the COVID-19 pandemic, realtors
have demonstrated an impressive ability to adapt to changing
conditions so that Texans could continue to pursue the American
dream of home ownership; and
WHEREAS, During sessions of the Texas Legislature, Texas
realtors traditionally converge at the Capitol to meet with
elected officials to discuss issues critical to the Texas real
estate industry, and this year, the association has adapted the
event to a virtual setting; it is indeed fitting that a day be set
aside to honor the Texas Association of Realtors and the realtors
of Texas; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Association
of Realtors on their many contributions to our state and
recognize April 9, 2021, as Realtor Day at the Texas Capitol;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the association as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
