A RESOLUTION
Commending the Hebron Christian Lions girls' basketball team for winning the 2023 GHSA1
3A State Girls Basketball Championship; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Hebron Christian Lions girls' basketball team has established and3
maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4
and5
WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of basketball6
competition by posting their first perfect season with a record of 32 wins and zero losses; and7
WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team8
a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable9
2023 campaign, the team captured its state basketball championship; and10
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding11
athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the12
team as well as the astute direction of Head Coach Jan Azar; and13

WHEREAS, Head Coach Jan Azar adds to her Hall of Fame career, winning her 15th GHSA14
State Championship, her second at Hebron in the last three seasons, and finishing the year15
undefeated for the first time in her storied career; and16
WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by17
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is18
abundantly proper to call them champions.19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20
the members of this body commend the Hebron Christian Lions girls' basketball team for21
winning the 2023 GHSA 3A State Girls Basketball Championship and extend their most22
sincere best wishes for continued success.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25
Hebron Christian Lions girls' basketball team.26
