2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 

3to learn of the death of Chelsea Jamilex Adolphus, who passed 

4away on January 23, 2025; and

5 WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus was born to Paul and Yolanda 

6Adolphus on March 24, 1996; she graduated from Waukegan High 

7School in 2014; and

8 WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus enjoyed being a nanny to 

9seniors, but her career aspiration was to own her own hair 

10salon; and

11 WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus had a passion for dancing and 

12loved to be around her family and friends, brightening the 

13room with her laugh and smile; she also enjoyed cooking; one of 

14the highlights of her life was being baptized by Pastor Marvin 

15Bembry; and

16 WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus was preceded in death by her 

17maternal grandparents, Almeric and Gregoria Bradley; her aunt, 

18Saritah Bradley; and her uncle, Luis Bradley; and

19 WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus is survived by her parents; her 

20brothers, Paul Adolphus Jr. and Jayden Adolphus; her paternal

1grandmother, Horinthia Adolphus; her aunts, Eleanor Ramirez, 

2Margaret Gillett, Diane Martinez, Lesbia Avila, and Xiomara 

3Adolphus; her uncles, Hubert Gillett, Albert Bradley, Errol 

4Bradley, and Elvis Ramirez; her nephew, Isaiah Martinez; her 

5niece, Catalaya Adolphus; her cousins, Jarrel, Elvis, Nigel, 

6Jhrae, Ava, Maverick, Mason, and Oaklee Ramirez, Kenard, 

7Kimberly, Kathleen, Kiara, and Aaliyah Gillett, and Levian 

8Rodriguez; and numerous other friends and family; therefore, 

9be it

10 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 

11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 

12Chelsea Jam
