A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Reverend Dr. Albert Paul Brinson; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Albert Paul Brinson has demonstrated his commitment to2
teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical,3
psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and4
WHEREAS, he was licensed to Christian ministry in 1963 by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in5
his home church, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and ordained in 1965 as an American Baptist6
minister by Dr. Martin Luther King Sr. and Jr.; and7
WHEREAS, during his time as a pastor, he served for 11 years at Antioch Baptist Church8
in Corona, New York, and for nine years at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church in Norfolk,9
Virginia; and10
WHEREAS, he has traveled across the United States as a fund-raiser and bridge builder11
among the multi-ethnic American Baptist Family, including his service as associate general12
secretary for the World Mission Support Office of American Baptist Churches USA; and13

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Albert Paul Brinson has received numerous honors and awards14
as a speaker and living source on the life and ministry of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his15
most notable honors include tributes from the City of Atlanta, Georgia, and Clark Atlanta16
University; and17
WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the sick, counseling the18
troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or19
humanitarian, Reverend Dr. Albert Paul Brinson has shown the energy, devotion, and20
commitment truly reflective of divine guidance; and21
WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Dr. Albert Paul Brinson22
is a source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and23
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message24
of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works rendered25
on behalf of persons in need.26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27
the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Dr. Albert Paul Brinson for his28
dedicated, unselfish, and gracious service on behalf of his fellow citizens and extend best29
wishes for future health and happiness.30
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to32
Reverend Dr. Albert Paul Brinson.33
