1HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 

3Representatives wish to congratulate the Irish Cardiac Society 

4on the occasion of its visit to the City of Springfield, the 

5capital of the State of Illinois, on May 8, 2026; and

6 WHEREAS, The Irish Cardiac Society will be hosted by the 

7Illinois Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, under 

8the distinguished leadership of Governor Benjamin Freed, M.D., 

9for a joint symposium at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential 

10Library and Museum this weekend, bringing together leading 

11cardiovascular professionals from both nations in a spirit of 

12scholarly excellence and shared purpose; and

13 WHEREAS, The twinning, or pairing, of the Illinois Chapter 

14of the American College of Cardiology with the Irish Cardiac 

15Society represents a proud and enduring bond of professional 

16friendship, uniting physicians and researchers across the 

17Atlantic in their common mission to advance the science and 

18practice of cardiovascular medicine and to improve the lives 

19of patients; and

20 WHEREAS, The State of Illinois has long cherished its deep 

21and historic ties to the people of Ireland, ties forged 

22through generations of Irish immigrants who helped build this

1State and enriched its culture, civic life, and proud 

2traditions, and whose influence continues to be woven into the 

3very fabric of Illinois communities from Chicago to 

4Springfield; and

5 WHEREAS, Partnerships such as the twinning between the 

6Illinois Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and the 

7Irish Cardiac Society exemplify the finest expression of 

8international goodwill, demons
